Greenwich Shop Ride, October 8th

Click for Greenwich, Connecticut ForecastYou can’t fault the beautiful weather we’ve been having recently; we hope everyone has been able to get out to enjoy some miles. It’s getting closer to those last days that you’ll want to ride with your knees uncovered before the cold sets in for good!

Our Saturday Greenwich Shop Ride rolls tomorrow at 9am. Might change up the route a little bit this time, we’ll see how it goes on the road. Will still be about the same distance. Come join us!

Greenwich Shop Ride, October 1st

Tomorrow is October! I’m not sure what happened to September, must have missed it. Make sure you get those bike rides in before the cold weather settles in.

There’s a 50% chance of rain tomorrow morning, so we’ll plan on riding at 9am. If it’s really raining hard then pour another cup of coffee and hopefully the weather gets better for you to ride later.

Golden Apple Ride Recap

This past Sunday Signature Cycles was proud to support the Westchester Cycle Club in their 30th installment of the Golden Apple Ride. The Golden Apple has become well known for its scenic routes and exceptional support, and this year did not disappoint! Over 1000 athletes came out from all over the Tri-State area to spend the day with friends and family. Participants had their choice of four challenging routes from 15 to 100 miles … there was a ride for everyone.

We arrived at 7am for registration and setup. As always, we were met with coffee and muffins. After a quick breakfast we checked in for the ride, set up our expo area for after the ride, and then rolled out for the 32 mile “Candy Apple” loop.

We stopped with 15 miles remaining so we could catch up with some of the volunteers and happened to run into a few clients of Signature Cycles. It’s always great to see our bikes in action out on the road!

For more information on the Westchester Cycle Club or any of the rides they host throughout the year please visit them at: http://www.westchestercycleclub.org.

Thanks to the organizers, volunteers, and the local Police for making this event as great as it is. We’re looking forward to the 2012 installment!

Come to our annual Fall Foliage Ride!

October 23, 2011

Over the past two years, we had an excellent turnout for and response from our Fall Foliage Ride. Last year, we hosted a ride in August, Cycle 4 Kids & K9s, which benefited the Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich and Greenwich Adopt a Dog.

This year, we have merged the two into one fantastic ride with multiple ride distances to choose from, post-ride BBQ, raffles, and much more. Click the image below for the flyer and all the details. When you’re ready, registration is at Active.com. You can also download a PDF of the ride flyer by clicking here.

This ride entirely benefits the Boys & Girls Club and Adopt a Dog.

A Day with Lance Armstrong and Senator Kerry at PMC 2011

Friday evening in Sturbridge, MA started out with our traditional dinner by Rovezzi’s Restaurante before the official Pan Mass Challenge ceremonies would kick off.  Attending were Senator John Kerry, his brother Cam, PMC founder Billy Star, Senator Kerry’s Aide Jason Meininger, my wife Liz and Lance Armstrong. The conversation was eclectic and light, as you would expect from such a diverse group. We bantered from this year’s Tour, to recent politics, to the amazing growth of the PMC, raising nearly $35 million this year to fight cancer. Continue reading
