Passoni Nero XL – The Perfect Dancing Partner
However, there is always a risk of falling prey to being over promised and coming up short on delivery.
My expectations for my Passoni Nero XL were high. They had to be. Passoni was breaking a ceiling set by our other custom brands that already stood as tall as Grand Central Terminal’s ceiling – higher than necessary, but definitely worth the statement.
Greenwich Parlee Demo
July 12th
Signature Cycles Greenwich
If you haven’t had the opportunity to throw a leg over a Parlee, you may not understand why people rave about the ride quality. Luckily, Steve from Parlee will be bringing a fleet of demo Parlees to our Greenwich studio on July 12th. This is a unique opportunity to log actual saddle time on a Parlee while enjoying the roads and terrain you’re familiar with.
To reserve a bike and time slot, send an email to lori@signaturecycles.com with your bike size and desired time. There will be two, one hour long rides starting at 4:30 and then 6:00 respectively. Just bring your pedals, shoes and helmet and we will take care of the rest. Steve will also be on hand after the rides to field any questions you may have about Parlee.
Farewell to Soren: Ride and BBQ
Saturday June, 30th
Signature Cycles Greenwich
We’re saying farewell to Soren Klingsporn of our Greenwich Studio at the end of June. There’s nothing more appropriate than a bike ride and some food to see him off.
We’ll do our regular 27 mile Saturday Shop Ride at 9:00am, casual pace, back in time to open the studio at 11:00am.
If you can’t make it for the ride, feel free to stop by any time during the day (we’re open until 4pm). We’ll have the grill on!
Rapha Mobile Cycle Club visits Signature Cycles Greenwich
June 29th, 8:00am
Signature Cycles of Greenwich
Join us on Friday, June 29th for a special 8:00am ride and breakfast at Signature Cycles of Greenwich with the Rapha Mobile Cycle Club. Ben and Ryan pilot the Mobile Cycle Club on their trek through North America, visiting an array of events, races, shops, random cycling hot spots, etc.
We’ll head out for a nice semi-spirited (casually brisk?) two hour group ride, departing from Signature Cycles at 8:00am. We plan to keep the group together as much as possible, but you’ll definitely have opportunity to take a dig on a hill or two.
After the ride, we’ll have pastries and croissants, coffee brewed fresh, and you can check out what all Ben & Ryan are traveling around with in that Cycle Club of theirs.
If you’re used to parking in our driveway, the Mobile Cycle Club will be stationed there so we suggest you plan on street parking along Bruce Park Ave.
Any questions? (203) 485-0500.
Get out there and explore! (A Garmin Workshop)
June 28th, 6:30 pm
Signature Cycles of Greenwich
The very distinct sound of cleats snapping into clipless pedals has long accompanied the start of any group ride. These days, it’s becoming more and more common to hear that snapping sound quickly followed by a high-pitched chime. That’s a Garmin’s way of saying it has started recording your ride. We’ve noticed more and more riders using a Garmin to track their riding and fitness. For many people, the ride can’t start until your Garmin has located its satellites and is ready to go.
That said, many people use their Garmin as the equivalent of a basic cycle computer, turn it on at the start of a ride, turn it off when you’re done. That’s perfectly fine, but there’s quite a bit more you can get out of your Garmin to help you explore new areas on your bike.
The focus of this workshop will be using your Garmin Edge 800, Edge 500, or Edge 705 for navigation on road bike rides. There are different ways to plot out a course you’d like to ride, and different methods for getting that course onto your Garmin in a useable format.
We’ll cover the following:
- Websites available for creating rides
- An overview of pre-ride course creation (mapping)
- Different file formats for courses
- Loading a course on your Garmin
- Uploading / storing your ride data
RSVP to Lori Hoefer for this event: lori@signaturecycles or (203) 485-0500.
